LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security is encouraging places of worship to beef up security. Shootings and other attacks on religious buildings, schools and churches are happening nationwide.
Religious leaders, law enforcement and community members gathered Monday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington for an interfaith security meeting. Kentucky Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) presented ways to prevent tragedies at churches, temples or other religious buildings.
“This is something the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security thinks about every day and every day our staff is trying to make Kentucky safer,” said executive director, Josiah Keats.
