Michigan State Police is warning parents that online predators are “Opening the Door” to their children’s bedrooms through the internet.

MSP is spreading the word through a new statewide campaign called “ Opening the Door ,” which is aimed at teaching parents about the online dangers that children face every day on the internet.

“We are definitely seeing a rise in sextortion, sexing, online exploitation in general. And one of the biggest things that we're seeing right now is a rise in generative, generative AI, generative artificial intelligence, where there's now programs out there that can create additional images, including nude images of people, including our children,” said Detective Sergeant Matt McLalin with MSP’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task For
