The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission opened a new salmon fishing season on the Coquille River and approved a new statewide kokanee bag limit during a Sept. 12 meeting in Ontario.
The changes, which included expanding spearfishing for bass and walleye, were part of updates to sport fishing regulations that are considered every other year.

The ODFW Commission voted to open a hatchery Chinook salmon season on the Coquille River for the first time since 2021.
