BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Virginia Tech is partnering with industry, government and community leaders to drive innovation and economic development.

They’ve launched a new program aimed at giving STEM students hands-on experience with manufacturing technology.

We got an inside look at the school’s new DREAMS lab.

“It really showcases the strengths of Virginia Tech. We’re known internationally for our ability to do great cutting-edge research in advanced manufacturing and advanced materials,” said Chris Williams.

DREAMS stands for Design, Research and Education for Additive Manufacturing Systems.

It’s one of the many labs part of the new Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
