WASHINGTON — DC Police announced Monday the arrest of a man connected to a homicide from August 2024.

Police arrested Christian Ware and charged him with second-degree murder while armed.

On August 13, 2024, police were called to the 500 block of Division Avenue, Northeast in Marvin Gaye Park for reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was later identified as 38-year-old Antowine Baker. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.

It is unclear how police connected Ware to Baker's death. The events leading up to the shooting have not been released.
