ST. CHARLES (KCTV) -- Jury selection is underway in the capital murder trial of a man accused of killing a North Kansas City police officer.

Joshua Rocha is charged with killing North Kansas City police officer Daniel Vasquez in 2022.

Prosecutors accuse Rocha of shooting the officer during a traffic stop that started over an expired temporary license plate.

Following Rocha’s arrest a probable cause document alleges Rocha described the events that led up to and followed the deadly shooting.
