One man died and another was injured Sunday evening in a house fire south of Everett, according to fire officials.

South County Fire crews found a 40-year-old man’s body inside a burning house in the 11800 block of Eighth Avenue West around 7 p.m., according to a news release. They took an 80-year-old man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The 40-year-old man was found on the first floor, and the 80-year-old man was on the second level. Fire officials believe four people lived in the home, and the other two were able to get out on their own.

The home sustained about $375,000 in damage, according to preliminary estimates.
