SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — On Monday, Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis held a press conference regarding the death of two women found in a rural Sumter County field back on August 8.

38-year-old Kristen N. Grissom of North Charleston and 35-year-old Christine Marie McAbee of North Charleston (previously reported as being from Walterboro) were found dead in a rural area off Richbow Road in Rembert. The victims are believed to have known each other and were originally believed to have been moved to the site where they were found.

Sheriff Dennis had announced the arrest of 29-year-old Tiamo Henry Mitchell Drakeford in connection with the death of Christine Marie McAbee, who died from a gunshot wound . For the first time, Dennis said deputies now believe McAbee was shot at the site on
