BRENTWOOD, N.H. —

A woman from Massachusetts who was on her phone while she was driving in Salem, New Hampshire, before crashing into and killing a motorcyclist has pleaded guilty.

Prosecutors said Sara Grams was driving home to Haverhill on Aug. 22, 2023, after picking up a takeout order in Salem when she crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, sideswiping a truck and crashing into a motorcycle.

Austin Willette, 24, was on the bike and was killed.

"It's a big deal, what happened to Austin that day, and it shattered my family and his friends, and we will never stop," said his mother, Arlene Willette.

His mother happened to be driving by at the time of the crash.
