Diane Crist, who has represented Ward 1 on the Longmont City Council since 2023, is running for mayor with a focus on experience, collaboration and what she calls “right project, right place” decision-making.
Crist, who has lived in Longmont for more than 30 years, said she had not considered a mayoral bid until Mayor Joan Peck announced she would retire at the end of her term.
“I realized someone from the council should step up,” Crist said. “It’s a tough job to just step into without already being on council, because there’s a lot of procedure you need to know.”
