PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A vigil held for the late Charlie Kirk Sunday night in Pensacola took a turn when one man tried to interrupt and vandalize the portrait that had been painted of Kirk.

The vigil began at 6 p.m. with hundreds of residents coming out to show their support of Kirk along Pensacola's Graffiti Bridge.

Local artist Rod Leisure was asked to paint a portrait of Kirk for the vigil. He was apprehensive at first with the thought that some commotion may take place.

"I just didn't want to end up in the middle of a mess," said Leisure.

Once the vigil had begun, one man tried to ruin Leisure's artwork of Kirk.
