EVERGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — There are no classes at Evergreen High School this week after the horrific shooting there on Wednesday.

Instead, students were all invited to attend a healing event at the Evergreen Lake House on Monday. The event was sponsored by the Evergreen Parks and Recreation Department and the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce.

Big crowds of students attended the event. There were outdoor games, food, music, and therapy animals.

Katie Clarkson, a student at the school, said she appreciated the event but had mixed feelings.

"It's a little bit nerve-wracking, just because it's a big setting. So that scares me a little bit, but I'm also really glad to be able to see everyone," Clarkson said.

She and others went to the school on Sunday to retrieve their belongings left behind.
