Thurmont appeals board denies special exception zoning request for fiber cable provider

Thurmont's Board of Appeals denied a request for public utility facilities in a residential zone by a fiber-optic network provider that proposed building a facility in the town.

The board on Thursday unanimously denied the special exception request from Cablevision Lightpath for a proposed concept plan at 10 Radio Lane for facilities that will serve the company’s fiber-optic cable.
