FREEBORN COUNTY, Minn. — Five children were injured after two school buses collided Monday afternoon in southern Minnesota.

The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office said a bus from Glenville-Emmons Schools and a school bus from Palmer Bus Company in Austin, Minnesota, crashed near the intersection of 890th Avenue and 107th Street in Freeborn County just before 4 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found the Glenville-Emmons in the ditch while the Palmer bus was in the intersection.

Officials say there were six children on board the Glenville-Emmons bus, and five of them went to a local hospital for treatment — four by ambulance and one by a personal vehicle.
