WTAMU expanding half-off tuition offer to educators throughout Texas

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — WTAMU announced Monday that it will be expanding its half-off tuition offer to educators throughout Texas.

WT said the Educators Excellence Initiative is now available to Regions 17, 18, 1A, and 2A schools.

"17 and 18 are just below us and include Odessa and Permian Basin, largely, and so on. We want to offer them the same opportunity, and because we, at WT, are committed to being, serving the rural communities of Texas, we will offer the same opportunity to anybody in any 1A and 2A school," said Dr. Walter V. Wendler, WTAMU president.

They add thousands of school employees throughout most of the western part of Texas, and at small schools around the state, are now eligible for 50% discounts for continuing their education at WT.

The initiative was launched
