NEW ORLEANS — In court on Monday, prosecutors argued that is a serious danger to her surviving children and was denied bond by a judge.
She was arrested and faces a negligent homicide charge, among others, after her 12-year-old non-verbal son, Bryan Vasquez, went missing and was found dead after being attacked by an alligator.
They also pointed to her criminal history, including a 2013 case involving Bryan’s injuries as an infant and the fact that her youngest child — as well as Vasquez herself — tested positive for cocaine at birth.
“This woman is clearly a danger to children, and she has been since 2013,” the state told the judge.
