OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Neighbors in Omaha’s Little Bohemia are raising questions about a major redevelopment project that could bring big changes to the historic neighborhood.
More than 50 people gathered Monday night for a community meeting to learn more about the $80 million plan to redevelop parts of 13th Street.
The project, known as “Little Bo Village”, has been in the works for months, but many residents say they didn’t realize the size and scope of it until recently.
Neighbors expressed concerns about increased traffic, limited parking, and whether the modern design will fit with Little Bohemia’s historic character.
Developer Tom McLeay told First Alert 6 ahead of the meeting that he hopes residents embrace the project rather than fear it.
“This argument of parking is really the
