Regarding the September 13, 2025 article, ‘Former Brazilian president sentenced to 27 years in prison’: Jair Bolsonaro lost re-election as President of Brazil in 2023. He has been convicted of fomenting a violent mob attack on the capitol building in an effort to overturn the election. The Brazilian Supreme Court has now sentenced him to 27 years in prison for his crimes. The people of Brazil are fortunate to have an authentically conservative Supreme Court that did not prevent Bolsonaro from being held to account for his crimes and, in fact, the Court held firm for the Rule of Law by sentencing him to prison for fomenting an insurrection.
