SEATTLE — A 46-year-old man is in King County Jail on suspicion of raping a 5-year-old girl at a homeless camp in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood.

The man is being held on $750,000 bail for first-degree child rape and first-degree kidnapping/imprisonment.

The man has not been formally charged.

On Sept. 12, Seattle police officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at Tent City 3 at 2720 Hanford Street, according to a police report. The caller reported a resident tried to get a girl inside his tent and neither of them could be found.
