The Doors released their first record in January 1967, kicking that amazing musical year off to a trippy start. Effortlessly blending their particular style into the rock genre (particularly blues and psychedelic), the band made a permanent stamp on music history. They've influenced countless artists since then, and there's little reason to believe that their ecstatic, experimental, atmospheric, and improvisational discography will ever grow old in the public eye (or ear). Each of their albums has its own feel to it, and they each contain fascinating material. Some of them are more successful than others, though, and fans can argue over which one is the best until the end of time.
