BANGOR -- Maine bargain store chain Marden's plans to close its Brewer location, but the store will be staying in the area.

It was announced in a press release by Marden's general manager, Fox Keim, that the store has purchased the Burlington Coat Factory building at 229 Springer Drive in Bangor.

Crews are renovating the building, and the team expects to be moved in by early 2026.

Keim says the new building will be more conducive to efficient retail operations.
