The tarp that obscures the southbound Diboll Relief access sign will soon be removed.

Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have announced that beginning Thursday, construction crews will start the process of redirecting traffic from the current lanes of U.S Highway 59 to the newly constructed southbound interstate lanes. This will bring the Diboll Relief Route project, which started in 2020, one step closer to full completion.

What To Expect On Highway 59 This Thursday

Lane closures will be implemented at the northern end of the project , near FM 2108 in Burke, and at White Oak Creek, south of Diboll. Travelers heading into Diboll along Business 59, or to Connor Road, will be redirected to take the FM 2108 exit. Signs will be in place to direct the
