A woman is facing two misdemeanor charges after allegedly accosting a South Dakota Republican political candidate at a sporting event in Aberdeen.

Shauna King, 69, made her initial appearance in Brown County court Sept. 15 on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct after she allegedly threatened Toby Doeden, an Aberdeen businessman and conservative activist who is running for governor of South Dakota.

According to a probable cause report filed by an Aberdeen Police Department detective, the investigating officer was asked to investigate a report of a male being threatened on Sept. 13 at Northern State University's Dakota Bank Stadium.

The detective stated security personnel informed him that King "made threats against" Doeden.
