WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - A Waterbury teen has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for stealing 21 guns from a Salem store and committing two armed carjackings in Stamford.
19-year-old Tyssan Woods was sentenced today to 120 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release.
On March 15, 2024, multiple suspects, including Woods, drove a car into the entryway doors of Statewide Pawn Shop and stole 21 guns.
On March 28, 2024, Woods committed two carjackings in Stamford, according to U.S. Attorney Sullivan.
State police would find Woods later that day in the driver’s seat of one of the stolen cars and arrest him.
The other stolen car was found in Waterbury.
A search of Woods’ home found two stolen guns. 13 stolen guns are still missing.
In June of 2025, Wood
