CARMEL, Ind. — It seems like everywhere you look these days there is hate or negativity on social media and in the world.

Leaders in Carmel are hoping to address that with better solutions for disagreements. It's called the Civility Summit and it's happening in Carmel next weekend.

Carmel Council member Jeff Worrell came up with the idea. He said the goal is to find ways to accept and respect someone's opinion.

The summit comes after the shooting and killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk . Since then, social media has been flooded with comments leading to division among many people. Worrell said the summit will bring people from all across the country to Carmel. Former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels will be one of the speakers.
