HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources is asking for community input on the draft of a management plan for the Moanalua Section of the Honolulu Watershed Forest Reserve.

The DLNR’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife is hosting an open house on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Moanalua Middle School.

Forest reserve users, neighboring residents, and community members are encouraged to learn about the plan and the DLNR’s proposed management strategies.

The planning consultant will be at the open house to answer questions, along with DLNR staff members.

This is the first management plan prepared for this section of the reserve.

The draft identifies goals for its use and management and includes a framework for implementation.
