SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Fire officials are working to determine the cause of a fire at a South Bend home on Monday evening.

Firefighters were called just after 6:30 p.m. to a home in the 1000 block of N. Brookfield Street.

When they arrived, they say they found heavy smoke and fire coming from both the first and second floors. Officials say it was contained just before 7 p.m.

According to officials, there was no one living at the home because it was under construction. There was also no active utility service.

No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians.
