SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s governor urged students on college campuses to continue the exchange of different perspectives and ideas, while respecting those with whom we disagree.
On Monday, several institutions of higher learning, including Snow College , Utah State University , and the University of Utah , posted Gov. Spencer Cox’s video, which was geared toward students.
Cox began his message by telling students that Wednesday’s fatal shooting of political commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University was “incredibly tough” for everyone in the state.
“We’ve all felt the weight of anger, fear, and loss,” Cox said in the video. “Right now, it may feel like rage is the only language in our politics, but you have the power to choose differently.”
