Members of the College Republicans at University of Louisville invited students, alumni and members of the Louisville community to participate in a candlelight vigil Sept. 15 honoring Charlie Kirk.
A large crowd responded, gathering in the grass in front of Grawemeyer Hall by the university's statue of "The Thinker," with many joining a line to sign a letter for Kirk's family and grab their candles and American flags.
Kirk, a popular conservative influencer with ties to President Donald Trump and Kentucky's Nate Morris, died after he was shot while speaking at a school in Utah on Sept. 10.
