CARBONDALE — One of several events in the area paying tribute to conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk, the SIU chapter of Kirk's Turning Point USA organization held a remembrance event on Monday evening.

The event filled an auditorium on the second floor of the student center consisting of people both for and against Kirk's well-documented positions.
