TYLER, Texas (KETK) -- People Attempting to Help People (PATH) is hosting its annual Coats for Kids drive as the cooler weather approaches.

The coat collection starts in mid-September, and people can drop off new children's and youth sizes at PATH's office, located at 402 W. Front St., from Monday to Thursday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Path Emergency Service Director Noe Valderas spoke about the types of coats they are hoping to receive.

"We are specifically looking for heavy winter coats because we want kids to be warm and stay warm all winter," Valderas said.

Gently used coats can be dropped off at participating dry cleaners. People can also choose to donate or volunteer to help this year's drive.
