SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - The college football spotlight is about to shine on Rice-Eccles Stadium early Saturday morning.

The #16 Utes football team will host 17th-ranked Texas Tech in a game that could go a long way to determining who plays for the Big 12 Championship.

"We've had big games here before, so it's nothing new to us," said Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham. "But anytime you have a chance to get in front of a national audience, and have people get a chance to see our stadium, our MUSS and our crowd in that hostile environment, that it is is a positive for us."

"I think we've had a great three weeks just playing football together," said quarterback Devon Dampier. "So to be on national television, I think we earned that, and I think we're ready for it for sure."
