Jan. 6 helped Trump unfurl fascist flag

In The Journal Gazette (Sept. 2), Steve Shine, chairman of the Allen County Republican Party, said: “Protesting is a cherished right. But after a while, people get tired of reruns, and that’s what these protests are becoming. Liberal left-wing policy does not correlate with Hoosier voters.” Shine was also reported to have said that the protests are becoming repetitive and stale.

I joined with the 100-plus protesters at the Courthouse, exercising that cherished right of protest. I agree with Richard Vonesh, who said, “This has nothing to do with Republican values” but rather the fear of losing those values, and more. I believe the protests have something to do with the betrayal of those principles of our democratic republic.
