LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. — Christine Kinsey said her last goodbye to her son Ben six years ago. He was a 22-year-old organ donor, helping give five people a second chance at life.

Her loss came with a bit of comfort from a donated blanket. She used it to tuck her son in one last time.

"This was donated by a mother who had lost her son. It's hard to put into words what that blanket meant. It was the first breath of hope, I think that I had had in days," she said. "I slept with it for at least a year, just hanging on to it because it was the last thing that touched him. The act of tucking your child in. Every mother knows that that is the most precious time of day, and it was something that only I got to do for him."
