Sri Lanka avoided a shocking upset against Hong Kong in their Asia Cup 2025 group-stage match, with Pathum Nissanka and Wanindu Hasaranga playing very crucial roles in the thrilling chase.

Nissanka anchored the innings as he hit 68 off 44 deliveries despite his catch being dropped three times. Sri Lanka was struggling to find momentum in the match but it was only Nissanka’s half-century that shined and continuing his strong run. Earlier, Hong Kong posted a competitive target of 149/4, which was possible because of Anshy Rath (48) and captain’s Nizakat Khan’s unbeaten 52 off 38 balls.
