Greenway’s Ava Johnson notched a major individual accomplishment but the team glory, narrowly, went to Chisholm in prep volleyball on the Iron Range on Monday night.

Johnson made it 1,000 career kills with her first point of Monday’s match in Coleraine, but Chisholm came away 3-2 (25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-12) winners.

Ava Johnson finished the match with 16 kills and 31 digs for the Raiders, while Ari Johnson recorded 17 kills and 14 digs.

Destiny Serfling dished out 47 assists for Greenway and was part of a defensive effort with three players who had double-digit digs led by Chloe Troumbly’s 19.

Hunter Nelson had a part in all three Hawks goals in a Lake Superior Conference home win at Corey Veech Field at Centricity Stadium.
