IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Hundreds of people gathered for a vigil for Charlie Kirk in Iowa City after his murder last Wednesday.
TV9 went to the the park where the vigil happened on Monday night.
The group Turning Point, which Kirk founded, called him more than just an activist and voice for conservatives but his faith and relationship with god is what drew young Republicans to his platform.
A somber group of people laid flowers next to pictures of Republican activist Charlie Kirk -- illuminated by candle light.
They gathered to share their feelings about what happen last week at Utah Valley University where Kirk was murdered while speaking to a crowd.
Many young Republicans in this gathering looked up to Kirk and what he stood for.
