DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) - Denham Springs Police are investigating a series of vandalism cases that have left several downtown businesses frustrated and searching for answers.

For more than a month, stores in the area have been hit with vulgar and sometimes racist graffiti. Business owner Tasha Levert said her shop, Mustard Seed Creamery, has been targeted three times in six weeks. She said at least five other businesses, including a neighboring barbershop, have also been vandalized.

“We’re all at a loss. None of us expect something like to happen. It’s discouraging. It’s scary. It feels hopeless in some ways,” Levert said.

Denham Springs police made one arrest after the first incident last month, but it remains unclear if the latest cases are connected. Police Chief Rodney Walker sai
