KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) -- The White House projects the 2026 World Cup host cities to have massive crowds, along with big boosts in business.

“2026 World Cup host cities can expect to see up to 450,000 visitors and a potential net economic impact of up to $480 million,” a White House memo reads. “Tourism, hospitality, and retail industries will benefit from increased international and domestic visitors.”

As we know, Kansas City is one of those host cities.

Some are wondering if Kansas City is ready for the challenge, knowing there are several thousand openings in the hospitality industry in the metro.

The Mid-America Regional Council sent its regional occupation report to FOX4.

The Missouri Restaurant Association says it’s a resource in the area.
