Florida quarterback DJ Lagway hasn’t lost the confidence of head coach Billy Napier.

Napier was adamant that the sophomore would bounce back following a five-interception performance in the Gators’ loss to LSU.

“The guy made some mistakes,” said Napier in a press conference on Monday, Sept. 15. “This is more about what we do going forward than it is what happened in the past. I think our ability to work hard, to help him, to create a good plan for him, to create a great week of prep, and then his ability to move forward and be process-oriented.

“Every one of those situations are very correctable, and he'll be better as a result of it.”

Just after Lagway threw his fifth interception, offensive lineman Austin Barber was quick to comfort his quarterback.
