It was a good night to be a Blue Jays fan on Monday as Toronto beat the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 in extra innings while the New York Yankees lost to the Minnesota Twins, meaning that the American League East crown is tantalizingly closer.

The Blue Jays haven’t won the AL East division since 2015, when José Bautista, Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnación et al brought the franchise back to relevancy after more than two decades in the wilderness. That year, the Jays didn’t clinch the AL East until Sept. 30 when they beat the Baltimore Orioles on the road in Game 158 of the season.

The franchise has won the division five other times: 1985, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1993.
