SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Only four men had won the Sanford International over the first seven years of the tournament. That number expanded to five this year as Retief Goosen claimed the crown on Sunday.

Goosen shot 13-under for the tournament. He carded more than a dozen birdies and one eagle while suffering just two bogeys over the 54 holes.

"If you can avoid the bogeys and make the birdies, you creep up to the top," Goosen said. "I got myself a new putter this week and suddenly I'm making putts again. So it's amazing how this game can sometimes just seeing something different can make its effect."

The South African was tied with Bo Van Pelt for the lead with three holes to play on Sunday. He proceeded to birdie the par-five 16, while Van Pelt bogeyed 17, which led to a two-stroke
