The wait for a new kitchen is finally over for Kurri Kurri High School students, who have been desperately overdue for an upgrade.
The old kitchens were so outdated that students had been cooking with the same equipment their parents likely used when they were at the school.
The new commercial-grade hospitality kitchen has officially opened, and it's a huge deal for the school.
Teachers can now offer more hospitality and food technology classes, and the kitchen has already piqued some interest with a completely full hospitality class going ahead in 2026.
Hospitality teacher Caitlin Macfarlane said the new kitchen has been a long time coming for the school.
