LANDIS — South Rowan’s volleyball team gave Carson the strongest challenge it’s had in a while, but the Cougars won again in Thursday’s big matchup.

Both teams entered the match undefeated in the South Piedmont Conference. Carson took a 25-10, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21 victory.

The Raiders (9-5, 5-1) got off to a jittery start, but once they settled in with the help of a big crowd, it was a competitive match.

Reese Joyner had a dominant effort for the Cougars (15-2, 6-0) with 26 kills. Tasean Perkins and Katy Falkowski had 12 kills each. Falkowski had three blocks.
