There's no keeping the Aberglasslyn Ants down.

Just moments after losing a thrilling grand final to a last-minute field goal, Ants coach Teliah Buckton has vowed to be back next year and go one better.

Well, four better, actually.

"We say that we play like Penrith. So you've got to lose one to come and get four back-to-back," a proud Buckton said, putting the disappointment of the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby League B-grade Ladies League Tag grand final loss behind the team.

"So we're coming back ready next year to go one better."
