BATON ROUGE — Brian Kelly publicly apologized Monday for his outburst in the post-game press conference Saturday night after LSU football' s win over Florida .

The LSU football coach told reporters during his weekly press conference that he holds himself to a standard in how he approaches dealing with the media and he got away from that after the Tigers' 20-10 win over the Gators .

"I've texted (Michael Cauble) and offered my apologies to him for the way I handed the questioning," Kelly said. " I think it's important to understand my standards relative to the media on a day-to-day basis need to be higher. I take responsibility for that and I've got to be better in the future.
