Woman found shot to death inside car in South Memphis, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A woman was found shot to death in her car in South Memphis overnight, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said.

Officers responded to Main Street and South Parkway East at 12:43 a.m.

MPD reported that when they arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Police were told that a man had fired multiple shots from a red pickup truck at the woman's car near the intersection of South Parkway East and South Third Street.

According to MPD, videos showed the red pickup truck following the woman's car as she drove north on South Third Street towards South Parkway East. The suspect was last seen going west on South Parkway East after shooting at the woman's car.
