BARABOO, Wis. — A 24-year-old Madison man died Saturday evening when his vehicle crashed on the exit road of Devil's Lake State Park, according to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 on the exit road just south of County Highway DL in the Town of Baraboo. The Sauk County Communications Center received multiple reports of the single-vehicle accident involving serious injuries.

Initial investigation shows a 2020 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on the one-lane, one-way exit road leaving Devil's Lake State Park when the driver lost control. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a sweeping right-hand curve in the roadway, according to investigators.
