A multi-vehicle collision led to the closure of a busy Leicestershire dual carriageway, police have revealed. Drivers were urged to avoid the area for several hours following the incident.

The collision happened at around 7.30pm yesterday (Monday, September 15) on Soar Valley Way. The dual carriageway between Glen Parva and Enderby is part of Leicester's outer ring road and is often busy with traffic heading to and from the M1 , M69 and Fosse Park.

Police said a three-vehicle crash happened close to Grove Way, the entrance to Fosse Park off Soar Valley Way. Drivers were urged to avoid the area while emergency services responded to the scene.
