Rhode Island’s Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) announced Monday, Sept. 15 it has approved rate hikes to commercial insurance premiums.
The premiums approved by OHIC are the highest in over a decade, according to Health Insurance Commissioner Cory King. They range from 17.6% for the small group market to 19.3% for the large group market and 21% for the individual market.
The rate increases are lower than what insurers originally req
